The project sSope
As part of a £49.3M upgrade scheme, our client required a security improvement for their reservoir site. The scope was to manufacture and install various security rated products to safeguard the buildings from further threat and to enhance security to minimise the risk of future incidents.
The solution
Some of the access cover requirements involved ground clearing to take place, and new concrete slabs to be put in place. Given the urgency of the project. A Steelway surveyor was dispatched immediately to allow identification of the detailed scope of supply and installation.
Steelway's project management team worked closely with the client to produce all necessary documents, including full detailed drawings, quotation, a detailed programme of works and full RAMS for installation. A site survey was conducted by Steelway prior to installation to collect full information and to ensure seamless execution of the project.
Within 10 days a survey, quotation, and full drawings had been created and released of or approval. Within 4-5 weeks full installation was taking place and was completed within the agreed timescale.
The placement of some of the access covers posed difficulties for maintenance tasks, specifically the preparation, removal and re installation of newcovers, requiring extra effort to coordinate access and fitting, This aspect of the work was also accommodated by the Steelway project and installation teams.
Steelway provided a unique solution tailored to the specific needs of the site. The design ensured that all products could be safely transported and lifted into place using approved equipment, allowing for a safe, efficient, secure and on time installation.
